| | Educators around the world are impressed with the newest release of Kidspiration-- "Kidspiration 3 is a major upgrade with a wealth of new features that enhance its value as a tool to support learning and teaching. What is common to all of the new features is how they support a diverse range of learning needs. My favourite is the new maths view tools and in particular the fraction boxes which allow us to represent fractions visually. The flexibility of these visual fraction boxes matches the general stage of cognitive development of our students and allows them to build strong conceptual foundations." -Greg Alchin, Learning Technologies Consultant, NSW Australia
"Kidspiration 3 is a more complete tool. It has always been great for literacy, science, history and geography. Now, it includes maths in a way no other software does. Kidspiration 3 bridges the gap between concrete maths resources and abstract thinking. Its ease of use enables pupils to develop and communicate their thinking freely and will consolidate numeracy concepts through visual personalised learning." -Helen Wilkes, Consultant/Trainer for Worcestershire LA, UK

Around the World in 80 Schools |
See how students around the world are using technology, including Inspiration® and InspireData to create a global picture of sustainable development and global citizenship. Follow Charline Evans as she travels to 80 schools around the world--covering 7 continents and over 30 countries.
Each school visited will be producing a film representing their country and culture. All participating schools will be involved in the tracking and submission of environmental data using an InspireData e-survey.

| | "Inspiration Software products are proving most useful to participants in the Around the World in 80 schools project. They use Inspiration to brainstorm ideas and map out information and use InspireData to analyse the data required for making the short films shown on the site. Students can explore data in their own time and analyse the information required from storyboarding through to production and editing. An inspirational combination of software that lends itself to many educational applications!" | |

25 Educators Awarded Inspired Teacher Scholarships |
Congratulations to the 25 educators who just received the 2007-2008 Inspired Teacher Scholarships for Visual Learning. The scholarships recognise educators’ "Best" projects using Inspiration Software's visual learning software tools--Inspiration, InspireData and Kidspiration.
One of the winners is Joy Lee, Master Teacher for South Cluster 2 in the Republic of Singapore. Joy used Inspiration as part of an action research project to discover the effects of using visual learning strategies to help her students improve narrative writing. Lee will use her scholarship to attend an overseas conference and collaborate with other teachers to learn and share information about visual learning.

Teachers Use InspireData's e-Survey tool to gather data from around the world! |
Teachers are finding that InspireData's e-Survey feature is a great way to quickly gather valuable data for classroom projects and experiments. Surveys are easily created, and because they are web-based, they can be accessed and filled out anywhere and anytime. This saves classroom time, expands the survey’s reach and allows for simultaneous data entry.
Tricia Lockhart, ICT Trainer/Advisor in Buckinghamshire, UK, uses the e-Survey tool for students to investigate how their peers travel to school and what might encourage 'greener' travel to school. This meets curriculum requirements for collecting primary data, as well as giving students the ability to easily create charts and graphs to represent their analysis.
| | "I used to do the work in a more clumsy way, using Word/ Excel, but InspireData has streamlined this task wonderfully. Previously creating survey questions involved more trial and error, as students could not anticipate the possible answers as comprehensively. We also used to waste more paper because they would print the questions and ask others to complete the answers on sheets." -Tricia Lockhart | |
| Go to e-Survey
To view current collected data and analyse it for yourself, simply open InspireData and click on the e-Survey button from the Starter Screen. Enter the survey ID, 375730, and the results will automatically open in InspireData. | |
